AEREI FRANCESCO MAGNANELLI | 2019 | ITALY | AIMAGAZINEBOOKS

L’INIZIO.

THE BEGINNING.

It Was July 1944 when Francesco Magnanelli, born in 1942, saw the “Flying machines” for the first time. He was jumping on his bed, in a basement in Jesi, a bombing begun, so he ran up to the building’s roof where he spotted the military aircrafts that fascinated him from the very first sight.

Once, during his childhood, his father Marcello, who was passionate about woodworking and mechanic, brought him to the military airport of Jesi where they witnessed the thunderous set in motion and the take off of a tirty meters wings silver trimotor SM82. The aircraft flew by the thunder of a USA dark blue “panther” jet, which ‘chandelle disappearing’ over the top of clouds.

Francesco had been working in Milan for 30 years as a designer in several architecture studios when in 1990 he decided to come back to the Marche’s sweet hills, in center Italy.

Surrounded by the stunning colors of the typical Marche’s landscape, captured by the Renaissance greatest artists, Francesco dedicated himself to drawing airplanes.
